- BSNL’s Mobile segment market to touch one billion by 2015
- WIRELESS TELEPHONE CONNECTIONS REGISTERS 56.75 PER CENT ANNUAL GROWTH
A telecom subscriber base of 600 million by the end of Plan period has been envisaged as per the 11th Plan (2007-2012). The wireless telephone connections are 545.05 million as on 31.1.2010. The wireless telephones connections have increased at the average rate of 56.75% per annum during the last 3 years i.e. from 31.3.2006 to 31.3.2009. As per the projections, the mobile segment market in India is expected to touch one billion by 2015.
The expected GSM mobile segment market for BSNL by 2013 is 119.9 millions. Year-wise details are given below:
