No reference has been received in the Ministry of Rural Development indicating decline in the productivity of agriculture due to staffing of labor from field to Mahatma Gandhi NREGS .

The Government has not commissioned any study in this regard. However, studies have been conducted by professional institutions to assess the impact of MGNREGA in rural areas. None of the studies has revealed any adverse effect of MGNREGA on agriculture produce due to shortage of labor arising after inception of the Act.
