A contract was signed with M/s Elta Israel for the procurement of three Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. Two AWACS aircraft have already been inducted into the Indian Air Force while the third is expected to be delivered by December 2010. There has been no intrusion of foreign aircraft into the Indian airspace during AWACS operation.
