Five Payloads from foreign countries were carried in Chandrayaan-I free of cost. They are Near Infra Red Spectrometer & Sub Kev Atom Reflecting Analyser from Sweden, Radiation Dose Monitor Experiment from Bulgaria and Miniature Synthetic Aperture Radar and Moon Mineralogy Mapper from USA.





These payloads were selected for carrying onboard Chandrayaan-I based on an International Announcement of Opportunity and their scientific merits.

This was stated by Shri Prithviraj Chavan, the Minister of State (I/C) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences in the Lok Sabha
