As per information maintained/received from Cadre Controlling Authority of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Services (IFS), the number and percentages of IAS, IPS & IFS officers in various categories are given below:-

As per information received from various Ministries/Departments, the representation of SCs, STs and OBCs in Central Government Services/posts as on 1.1.2008 was, approximately 16.51%, 6.85% and 6.97% respectively, excluding safaikaramcharis.
Representation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes in some services/posts remains less than the prescribed percentage of reservation or percentage of their population for reasons like time gap between dates of vacancies and actual dates of their filling up, non-availability of suitable candidates belonging to these categories etc. In some cases, their representation exceeds due to the fact that reserved category candidates selected on their own merit are adjusted against unreserved vacancies is given in addition.

I think base of reservation should be economical backwardness instead of castes. And reservation should not be apply in Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Because, Obtained Marks of Prelims Exam is not count in Final Merit in Selection of IAS. IPS & IFS. And India should be free from castism, regionalism and linguistic discrimination.
HI DEAR MUSTAK GOOD IDEA THAT IS INDIA SHOULD BE FREE OF CASTEOR RELIGION. BUT BROTHER INDIA ARRANGED THE RESERVATION FROM LAST 60 YEARS AND CASTE BASE DISCRIMINATION FROM LAST 25 CENTURIES. BEFORE 1950 THERE WAS NO RESERVATION BUT WAS CASTE SYSTEM EXISTING DO YOU THINK THAT YOU WILL DESTROY THE CASTE SYSTEM FROM 1.20 BILLIONS OF INDIA BY ELIMINATING CASTE BASE RESERVATION. NEVER BROTHER.SO PLEASE KEEP THIS IDEA IN YOUR POCKET
but economic condition should be the criterion (if at all there has got to be any)rather than caste/tribe to prevent unworthy black sheep from occupying a place of genuine talent in exams like IIT/IIM etc…im not including ias coz it doesnt matter(corruption is the only benchmark here)..but atleast let’s not derogate our higher institutions of learning where these people rarely deserve o put into…plz put forth ur comments
Reservation is correct in this situation.But if you want to stop it then first stop the casteism because people of caste feeling resists backward people’s carrier and by doing this they are maintaning the unequality among the general and backword people.

reservation is correct coz if u want to stop it first give agriculture land and other property to sc/st like general caste people
pls do not destroy the country by giving opportunity to undeserving candidates in Government offices in TOP positions. There are elite people in the society in plum positions, keeping an SC/ST certificate in their pockets – their children enjoy full life with the certificate, get admission in great institutes, move into plum positions and do not do justice rest of their life to the job they got, REASON – THEY DID NOT EARN IT THE RIGHT WAY. Reservation has to be given based on financial condition of the family not caste to improve the country, Reservation creates more hatred in society and encourages cast ism.
hi dear jatinder.your reply clearly suggests that you think we should live in the past.we should rather look to the present and more importantly the future.its like we used to have child marriage in india so the person trying to abolish it is being asked by you to look at the past and insulting him for trying to change the history.funny but its people like you that is refraning india from growth and prosperity.
@sumithra you people enjoyed centuries keeping others backward in terms of everything and now when they are enjoying you are talking about undeserving and so on. Ask your parents and grandparents and slap them if they didn’t thought about the deserving person who was washing your streets. Why you people didn’t thought about the economic way at that time. See if you will have 1000s times extra with you to eat and the other one is dying at your doorstep don’t expect that he will not respond. Even if he kills you i will not surprise because you didn’t showed any sentiment when he was hungry and struggling. Having all the facilities can make one deserving and much better than you. Go and visit one slum area and read whole night and then talk about reservation. If all you deserving people are right then slap yourself for the corruption and discrimination you people have generated. If you people are better and deserving then go and ask your other deserving fellow to clean your city sitting in DM office otherwise slap yourself.
Sumitra is right.. you know what people ,instead of telling this country to stop Reservation or Corruption or whatever … we should leave this country to a better place….. thats what happening from long time …… there are 36% engg techs are there in MICRESOFT from this country and 14% doctors in US itself……. do you people think they had left this country only because for MONEY …..this country will realize one day when all the posts are filled by reserved people and dying to remove the name DEVELOPING from the fates of the country ……am not a loser to get back from the situation, but do you people think that you can bend an iron rod in bare hands……… even ANNA did not able to do it!Am not telling that all the reserved people are ineligible but am telling that any ineligible people should not be reserved………
Sumitra ..Can u just tell me why we have reservation for women irrespective of their economic status….. Just think u will get answer to your question… Reservations are given fir those sections which have been suppressed in all fields for very ling time.. Same is the case with women..

I want to publish my dream book of my experience in my state but was rejected by mainstream Indian publication cause according to them I didnt represent “India” I wont name names but this is who I am and what I am struggling. My identity : I am woman, ST, unemploy with big drems. And your tit for tat knowledge make me funny cause the outlook of each individual life, struggle, fame and power all dwindle down into a century of death and hatered. No one can change overnight. It takes you and I to turn pages of history for a better tomorrow hope you guys pool your ideas together instead of quoting words for words. Seems all of appear to be intellectual to me. Go India

What is democracy Democracy means to take part in decision process. According above data can we say SC ST and OBC have got their rights yet.

Giving reservation on castebase in higher post and in higher education will definitely destroy this country.When a human-being gets things(Malai) without efforts, he is definitely not deserving for that.Can anybody aspect an IAS from “QUOTA” will have that much brain to suggest Govt innovative policies.

First We Should Respect Our Constitution, We The People Of India We Should Respect Our Constitution, We should Respect the Father Of India Constitution Of India “Dr B.R Ambedka” & others who are Part of the Constitution Committee, Stop hating SC/ST OBC Castes, In Olden days the higher castes peoples not allowed to enter into temples & Untouchablity , etc, Till day also things not changed Peoples are not yet all stopping criticizing SC/ST Peoples there No End For this. Who are stopping you to become IAS IPS IFS Officers Yaar Work hard for that u can also become IAS Officers. UR MindSet is like that, 1st U people clear Ur minds & work Hard U can also become IAS Office Instead of criticizing of SC/ST & Our supreme Law (Constitution). Till day maximum SC/ST & OBC peoples are poor & They are working hard to come Up.
Puna pact between Gandhi and B R Ambedkar was the lolly pop to SC/st people otherwise they were given opportunity by britishers to have there separate country. instead of new country they were given reservation. Take reservation and brake treaty of Puna pact.
In caste based indian culture, the cast based differences can not be ignored even if u or all does not favour reservation keeping ur own self-intrests as intrests of the nation.
