The Govt compensates for that by buying the food and destroying it by allowing it to rot in the the godowns. 4 the country needs foods other than food grains, but the farmers are unable to diversify as they are kept poor by Govt policies on export, marketing etc. 5 because the govt has not paid enough attention to providing education health and infrastructure, we have huge untrained manpower side by side with industries suffering from lack of trained manpower. Various govt policies like labour laws, prevent industries from starting big scale manufacturing factories, which will employ untrained labour on a large scale. 6 to get elected our politicians use popular short sighted policies instead of rational policies.
