Since May 2001, Indian private sector participation is allowed upto 100 % in Defence Industry sector with FDI upto 26 %. So far, 144 Industrial Licenses / Letters of Intent (ILs/LOIs) have been issued to a number of private sector companies for manufacturing of various defence items.

Private sector participation in defence is very dangerous. Our defence related issues such as production, strengths, weeknesses, and preservative methods are openned to all. And they are openly accessable to neibouring countries like pakistan and china agents. So it is cruicial to save our country. so many sectors are openned up in NDA regime. It is one of their retrograde policies.
